*These Crazy Days*

We are currently potty training Haylie...or she's really potty training herself...we just take her when she says she needs to go. Ever since she turned 2 she wanted to get rid of her diapers and wear her new tinkerbell and hannah montana panties. So I said, sure, we'll see how it goes. And I must say she's done pretty fabulous for the past four weeks now! Just a few accidents a week...none this week! She still wears a diaper at night, so we haven't mastered the whole potty training thing yet. But now that she's wearing panties she's figured out how easy it is to take her pants up and down. Well...yesterday I got a little surprise while I was trying to put Hunter down for his nap. I was sitting on the couch rocking Hunter and Haylie disapeared into the hallway for a little while. The next thing I know...she's standing at the end of the hall naked...she throws her hands up in the air, shakes her booty, and screams..."Haylie's Nakie!" It was the most hilarious thing ever! Of course after laughing I tell her it is much too cold to be running around naked...so we put her clothes on. She does this same thing about 3 times yesterday...and I must say...it never stopped being funny!
So last night we had a speed scrap at Nicoles...I couldn't finish mine in time, because I came down with a horrible migraine right in the middle of it...but I got up this morning and finished it off. So here it is...

Here's what the instructions were:
1. 1. Go to your pictures folder and choose only 1 photo. Then head over to this link http://www.jessicasprague.com/index.php?....ntent&Itemid=92 To create a dreamy handtinted picture.
2. Find 1 solid paper for your background paper
3. Now go and find 4 patterned papers. 3 of them you will cut into strips. The 4th one you will use to matte your picture.
4. Go find some type of wrap (ribbon, string, rubber band, etc..) to "hold" your picture to your matte.
5. Embellish how you like but make sure you include some bling, greenery, and some sort of cluster.
6. Create a two word title using only fonts (no alpha's) and it must be two different fonts and monochromatic with your background page.
7. Add your journaling and a date.

Speed Scraps...

There was a speed scrap last night at Gingerscraps. It was a lot of fun!
These were the instructions:
Step 1: Choose between 4-6 Photos. Here's the catch! 1 photo must be of a family OR a group of people (or a group of animals, as long as it's a group) and must be horizontal (side to side not up and down)And the other photos have to be those people or animals by themselves. So for a family of 3 you will need 4 photos, one of each person and one group picture. For a family of 5 you will need 6 photos. Now that you get the idea you can use as many photos as you need. Because if you have a family of 7 you will need 8 photos and I don't want you to leave anyone out by making you only pick 6 photos haha.
Step 2: Crop the group photo (if you can!) so that it is longer than tall. Try to make it as panoramic as you can so it is extra long.
Step 3: Make the other photos small and try to make them as square as you can.
Step 4: Frame the other photos and Hang them from the group photo. You can frame the group photo as well but you don't have to. You can hang them with strings, ribbons, chains, anything so that they hang down a bit. Don't just staple them to the group photo. I want them away from the group photo.
Step 5: Finally! We are picking papers now! haha. Ok choose one paper for the background. Whatever you think will look best under the photos. And now you can choose another photo to do with whatever you want. This is not a requirement. Only if you want to add another paper. You can even cut it into a shape, I don't care what you do with it if anything.
Step 6: Use tiny elements (glitter, splats, tiny flowers, tiny leaves, confetti, as long as it's TINY!) and splash it on the LO. You can put these wherever you want on the LO. Across the top, all over the background paper, across the middle, in an X I don't care as long as they are all TINY.
Step 7: Add a title above the group photo. Make it stretch across the length of the photo (or almost at least). And add names to the frames or below the frames. Each frame should have the name of the person in the frame, only name the small photos.
And this is what I came up with:

Tomorrow there's a speed scrap at Nicoles!

Come join us!!!! It'll be fun!!

He Said Mama Today!...And Some Scrapbook Pages!

Hunter finally murmured the few syllables I've been waiting to hear! He had backed his way into his tunnel (because that's the only direction he's figured out yet)...and I dunno if he was wanting to get my attention, but there it was plain as day Mama! Woo hoo...of course he said dada like 2 weeks ago. But I had sworn he had said mom before while screaming at the top of his lungs! Maybe I just thought he was screaming at me! :)
So in honor of my "mama" day...I'll post some scrapbook pages I've done of my kiddos this month!

Not So Sweet Slumber...

As I'm sitting here ready to go to bed and slowly drifting off...I'm reminded of what happened last night and is sure to happen again tonight, because it has become a nightly routine of ours. The kids will be tucked away in their beds sleeping soundly as Michael and I will head to bed. We'll be asleep probably about 3 hours-4 if we're lucky, and Hunter will wake up. For some reason the chunk can't get out of the habit of wanting a middle of the night bottle. So, we'll let him whine a little while, hoping and praying he'll whine himself back to sleep. Then I'll kick my husband in the leg to get up and give him his bottle. My husband is wonderful about doing things well and still staying asleep, that's why I make him give Hunter his night time bottle, because if I were to do it, I would be totally awake and it'd take forever to get back to sleep. So no sense in one of us losing sleep when he can do it and lose almost no sleep! Shortly after Hunter wakes up, Haylie will wake up and come to bed with us. It's either let her get in the bed and she'll go back to sleep almost immediately, or take her back to bed and hear her throw a fit for hours. Being a smart mommy, I choose not to fight battles while the sun is down! So I let her in the bed with us. Well last night she wanted to sleep almost right on top of me...with her face right in my face...I can't do that, no breathing in my face. So I did what you do when you're a kid and you have your bff over for a sleep over. I put my head at the foot of the bed and my feet up under the pillow by Haylie's face. At this time Hunter is asleep in Michael's arms in the bed. My husband said he had no idea where I had gone until I moved...and some how in the mid-morning hours I ended up with Hunter down at the foot of the bed with me. I remember Michael handing him to me, but the rest is a little fuzzy. So as I'm sitting here about to head in the direction of my pillow..I pray please please let it be a rare night, a night where both my kids are in their own beds ALL night long! And I'm thinking...it is time that we upgrade from a queen size bed!!

Second Speed Scrap

We had a second speed scrap at Nicoles last night! It was challenging...but much fun! I think I've learned that I freak out less if I wait until all the instructions are given out and then start the scrappin!
These were the Instructions:

Step 1. Choose 1 picture… have it take up ¾ of the page. You can place it anywhere.
Step 2. Choose 4 papers… 1 worn or torn, 2 patterned and 1 notebook.
Step 3. Tear or cut a piece of paper into a strip of any size and shape.
Step 4. Hang something in your layout. It can be a tag, string, picture, etc.
Step 5. Use a glitter swirl somewhere in the layout.
Step 6. Use a minimum of 3 of the following in your layout: ribbon, hearts, staples, flowers and leaves. You can use all if you want.
Step 7. Add a line of journaling and date. Save your layout, upload it to the gallery and link it back here. You have one hour, plus 15 minutes grace to upload.

My New Obsession

My husbands always been after me to find a hobby. I always told him that I'm not good at anything and I don't like anything! That was until I discovered digital scrapbooking. I always wanted to get into paper scrapbooking, that of course was after I had my first child. By then it was too late, paper scrapbooking is time consuming...and not to mention you have a whole bunch of stuff to keep a little one of! It just wasn't going to work for me...plus all the cutesy stickers was way out of our budget. I was so excited when I first came across scrapblog.com, I scrapped Haylie's 1st year in no time! And even set up a templete for Hunter's to fill in whenever he reached the right month. I was pretty much hooked. Then I started googling digital scrapbooking and came across all kinds of sights of "freebies" to download! Hello...a practically FREE hobby! Now I've joined the forum over at Digi-Designs by Nicole and I can't get enough of it! I'm on there every day and trying a new scrap challenge or just a layout almost everyday! It's too much fun!
So today I participated in my first Speed Scrap Challenge over at Nicole's Forum. The instructions were:
Step 1 - pick 3 pictures, only 1 of the 3 can have people in it.
Step 2 - pick any 7 papers; use 1 for your background and the others however you wish
Step 3 - Colorize your pictures; black/white, color overlay, etc...
Step 4 - Frame all your pictures
Step 5 - Use as many flowers and greenery as you wish. make a small cluster
Step 6 - Using only alpha make a BIG title for your layout
Step 7 - put a tab on your layout with the date on it. Add any drop shadows and finish your layout. Upload to a gallery or photobucket and then post your layout in the forum.
And this is what I came out with..

What do ya think?

This Is Real...This Is Me!!

I use to have a blog that I wrote in almost every day before I had the kiddies...I think it's something I'll try to do again...
So...let me introduce myself...
Who am I?? Sometimes I don't even know the answer to that question. But lets see what I can come up with...
The Facts...My name is Christie...I'm 25. I've been with my husband for 4 years...married for 3, we have two beautiful yet wonderfully spoiled children Haylie, who is 2 years old, and Hunter who is 7 months old. I live in Cabot, where my husband and I bought our first house in December 2007. I have three large dogs, Rocky, Peanut, and Zoey. I have a twin brother, two little sisters, and my parents are still married! Some would say that I don't have a job...but I believe I do..I'm a stay at home mommy to two very loving and wonderful yet very rotten children...the pay sucks...but the benefits make it worth it.
Behind closed doors...I like to sing at the top of my lungs...even if I don't know the words (I love all kinds of music)...I like to dance when no one's watching...I have no rhythm...I just dance it out! I love sappy romance movies…and often cry watching them! I couldn't spell well even if my life depended on it…I don't ever use proper grammar. I love the Lord…and I am a Christian…but that doesn't make me perfect…in fact I curse a little too much (I'm trying to cut back), I don't always get along with everyone, and I don't always like everyone I meet. I secretly like watching Disney with my 2 year old! :) I just found a hobby and I am obsessed with it...Digital Scrapbooking!
I Believe…God does exist…he created us…and plays a part in our everyday life! I believe in fairy tales and that everyone deserves a happy ending! True love is real…and so is love at first site and soul mates. Everyone should have a second chance…but if you blow that, then it's over for ya. Your family is always there for you no matter how stupid you act or how dumb the thing is that you did! You shouldn't get married just because you get pregnant…get married because you love the person and you truly want to spend the rest of your life with that person.
This is my attempt to find me…the me that's more than just Haylie and Hunter's mommy and Michael's wife.
…I think I'll try this blogging thing once a week…or maybe bi weekly...at least I'll share my digital scrapbooking here once a week!
